Nathan, bekend van The Walking Dead: World Beyond, vertolkt George Hellebore.
Miriam Margolyes, Harry Marcus and Christopher Nathan join the cast of the new audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s SilverFin. Margolyes takes on the role of the terrifying Cleek MacSawney.
The cast of Young Bond: SilverFin has been expanded with three new additions. Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications have announced three new names for the full-cast audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s first Young Bond novel: Miriam Margolyes, Harry Marcus and Christopher Nathan. The best-known of the three is undoubtedly Miriam Margolyes. The BAFTA-winning British actress, known for Blackadder, Doctor Who: The Star Beast and numerous other film and television productions, will voice Cleek MacSawney. The character is a ruthless servant of Lord Hellebore who comes into conflict with the young James Bond during the story.
Margolyes appears to be thoroughly enjoying her new role. “Cleek is a violent, probably insane semi-criminal who works for Lord Hellebore on his estate in Scotland,” she says. “You wouldn’t want to meet her on a dark night, that’s for sure. I do enjoy playing nasty people!”
The audio adaptation also features a notable change to the character of Cleek MacSawney. In Charlie Higson’s original novel, the character is male, but writer and director Barnaby Edwards decided to portray Cleek as a woman for the new production. Both Higson and Ian Fleming Publications gave their approval for the change. Edwards has known Margolyes for around 20 years and was determined to bring her on board for SilverFin. According to him, the actress found exactly the right balance between larger-than-life performance and believability during the recording sessions. “Cleek is a larger-than-life character, but she’s got to be believable,” says Edwards. “Miriam builds big, but she builds true. And that’s exactly what she did for SilverFin.”
The second new addition is Harry Marcus, who has appeared in the British television series Poldark. He voices Red Kelly, a young friend of James Bond. Red plays an important role in Bond’s life during his time at Eton College.
Christopher Nathan also makes his debut in the Young Bond universe. Nathan, known for The Walking Dead: World Beyond, voices George Hellebore. He is an Eton College pupil and the son of the powerful Lord Hellebore. Nathan will therefore share scenes with, among others, Isaac Rouse, who was previously announced as the voice of James Bond.
The previously announced cast also includes Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless and Charlie Higson himself as Mr Merriot. The production is written and directed by Barnaby Edwards, with Robert Valentine and Lizzie Worsdell serving as producers. Young Bond: SilverFin consists of sixteen episodes of approximately 30 minutes each, divided into two volumes of around four hours apiece. The audio adaptation will be released on 29 October 2026 by Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications.
Both volumes will be available separately as digital downloads or as collector’s editions with CDs. A number of bundles are also available, including a limited Platinum Edition containing both volumes, digital downloads, collector’s edition CDs and exclusive Young Bond memorabilia.
