Ian Fleming schreef honderdduizenden woorden over 007, maar heel weinig over de man zelf, James Bond. Lezers leerden het personage begrijpen door zijn daden. Dit wordt duidelijk in de nogal vluchtige weergaven van het leven van Bond buiten zijn totale plicht voor Koningin en Vaderland. Bond-scenaristen daarentegen verspilden geen tijd en gebruikten slechts een paar woorden om ons alles te vertellen wat we moeten weten over de film 007. In dit nummer verkennen we zowel de zeldzame glimp van Bond’s privéleven als de efficiëntie van de scenarioschrijver door de screenplays voor zowel Dr. No als Casino Royale te analyseren.

Bond screenwriters, on the other hand, wasted no time and used only a few words to tell us everything we need to know about the film 007.
