All In wordt gepubliceerd zeventig jaar nadat Diamonds Are Forever verscheen.
In september verscheen Charlie Higsons nieuwe Bond-thriller King Zero. Op 22 oktober volgt bovendien The Man with the Golden Compass, het tweede Q-mysterie van Vaseem Khan.
On James Bond Day, Ian Fleming Publications has announced a new literary mission for 007. Historian and bestselling author Dan Jones is writing All In, an entirely new James Bond adventure due to be published on 3 December 2026.
All In is set in 1954, at a time when the British Empire is gradually withdrawing from Ceylon, now Sri Lanka. Six years earlier, the island had gained independence from Britain. As British forts and officers’ messes are gradually being emptied, James Bond is travelling in the opposite direction. His mission takes him to a country renowned for its precious gemstones. Bond is tasked with tracking down one of the most valuable stones in the world. And he will not be doing it alone. At his side is Tiffany Case, the diamond smuggler familiar to readers from Ian Fleming’s Diamonds Are Forever.
What begins as a search for a priceless diamond soon turns into a deadly game. Bond is taken from the cool mountain regions around Kandy to the pitch-black depths of the ocean. Ultimately, the stakes prove to be far greater than a single gemstone. To complete his mission, 007 will have to put everything on the line.
A tribute to Fleming
The choice of 1954 and Tiffany Case is no coincidence. All In is being published seventy years after Diamonds Are Forever first appeared. With the new novella, Ian Fleming Publications is deliberately building on elements from Fleming’s fourth Bond novel, while avoiding simply retelling the original story.
For Dan Jones, the project represents an exciting new departure. The British historian and bestselling author is known for books on the Plantagenets, the Knights Templar and Henry V, among others. He is also the author of the acclaimed Essex Dogs trilogy and presents the podcast This is History. With All In, he is writing a novel set in the modern era for the first time.
Jones describes the opportunity to write a James Bond story as a great honour. In particular, he is excited by the prospect of taking Bond to Ceylon at such a pivotal moment in world history. At the same time, the assignment has a deeply personal significance for him. As a child, Jones was an avid reader who, by his own account, would even go to the library when he had nothing left to read at home. The fact that he is now being given the opportunity to write a new Bond adventure makes the project all the more special.
Ian Fleming Publications also sees All In as an opportunity to introduce new readers to the literary Bond. The novella is being published as part of the UK’s National Year of Reading 2026 and its accompanying ‘Go All In’ campaign. Ian Fleming Publications will also make an annual donation to the National Literacy Trust.
A strong year for literary Bond
With All In, 2026 gains another significant chapter in the literary history of James Bond. The year began with the publication of Hurricane Room, the third and final Double O novel by Kim Sherwood. In September, Charlie Higson returned with his new Bond thriller King Zero. On 22 October, The Man with the Golden Compass, the second Q mystery by Vaseem Khan, will also be published. The literary world of James Bond is clearly thriving. Each author brings their own perspective, period and style to the character, while continuing to build on the foundations laid by Ian Fleming more than seventy years ago.
Beyond the world of books, 007 continues to evolve. The successful video game 007: First Light has introduced Bond to a new audience in 2026. The combination of new novels, games and other projects demonstrates that the character still offers plenty of scope for new stories.
All In will be published on 3 December 2026 as a special hardback edition and will be available worldwide exclusively through ianflemingshop.com. The story will also be released as an e-book and audiobook. With a new adventure, the return of the familiar character Tiffany Case and a direct connection to Diamonds Are Forever, Dan Jones appears to have created a Bond story that both looks back to Fleming and towards the future of literary 007.
