Corgi Toys breidt zijn rijke James Bond-erfgoed dit jaar uit met een opvallend modern hoofdstuk. De fabrikant brengt een schaalmodel uit van de Aston Martin Valhalla, zoals die te zien zal zijn in de game 007 First Light. Daarmee verschijnt voor het eerst een officieel James Bond-voertuig bij Corgi dat niet afkomstig is uit de films, maar uit het Bond-universum van de gamewereld.
De introductie van de Valhalla in 007 First Light is het resultaat van de nauwe samenwerking tussen de makers van de game en het Britse automerk Aston Martin, dat al sinds de jaren zestig onlosmakelijk verbonden is met James Bond. Liefhebbers kregen eerder al een eerste indruk van de Valhalla via een video van producent IO Interactive. Daarin werd duidelijk dat het hier nadrukkelijk niet om een standaard productiemodel gaat, maar om een door Q Branch aangepaste uitvoering.
De auto is zowel visueel als functioneel aangepast voor tactisch gebruik. De nadruk ligt op stabiliteit, grip en controle onder extreme omstandigheden. De voorverkoop is reeds gestart en de Aston Martin Valhalla heeft een prijskaartje van €43.95 (exclusief importheffing) en een gelimiteerde oplage van 999 stuks.
