Naast de casting kreeg ook de creatieve kant van Bond 26 steeds meer vorm. In juli werd bevestigd dat Peaky Blinders-maker Steven Knight het scenario schrijft. De ervaren Britse schrijver werkt daarbij samen met Denis Villeneuve, die eerder dit jaar werd aangekondigd als regisseur van de nieuwe film.
Volgens Amazon-topman Andy Jassy kan de studio niet wachten om aan het volgende Bond-avontuur te beginnen. Hij noemde Villeneuve “één van de grootste filmmakers van deze tijd” en sprak zijn vertrouwen uit in de nieuwe creatieve richting van de franchise.
