Na de aangekondigde rondreis door Japan heeft On The Tracks Of 007 opnieuw een bijzondere Bond-reis aangekondigd. In oktober 2027 kunnen liefhebbers afreizen naar Egypte voor de SPY50 Tour of Egypt, een achtdaagse rondreis die in het teken staat van het vijftigjarig jubileum van The Spy Who Loved Me uit 1977.
De reis voert deelnemers van Caïro via Abu Simbel en Aswan naar Luxor en vindt plaats van 6 tot en met 13 oktober 2027. Waar de Japanse reis verschillende kanten van de Bond-geschiedenis samenbrengt, staat de Egyptische tour nadrukkelijk in het teken van één film: The Spy Who Loved Me. On The Tracks Of 007 biedt deelnemers de mogelijkheid om niet alleen bekende Egyptische bezienswaardigheden te bezoeken, maar ook verschillende locaties en plaatsen te ontdekken die verbonden zijn met de wereld van James Bond.
De reis begint op 6 oktober in Caïro. Een dag later staat een speciale Cairo Bond Locations City Tour op het programma, waarbij verschillende Bond-gerelateerde locaties in de Egyptische hoofdstad worden bezocht. Op 8 oktober gaat het gezelschap naar het plateau van Gizeh en de beroemde piramides. De dag wordt afgesloten met de Sound & Light Show. Op 9 oktober staat een bezoek aan het Grand Egyptian Museum gepland, gevolgd door een dinercruise over de Nijl. Daarna verplaatst de tour zich verder naar het zuiden. Op 10 oktober vliegen de deelnemers naar Abu Simbel, waar een bezoek aan de beroemde tempels is gepland. Vervolgens reist het gezelschap door naar Aswan.
De laatste dagen staan in het teken van Luxor. Op 11 oktober wordt de Karnaktempel bezocht. Een dag later staan verschillende tempels op de westelijke oever van de Nijl op het programma. Op 13 oktober eindigt de rondreis in Luxor, vanwaar de deelnemers hun terugreis kunnen beginnen.
Ook wat accommodatie betreft kiest de organisatie voor een comfortabel programma. De tour omvat vier nachten in een vijfsterrenhotel in Caïro, twee nachten in een vijfsterrenhotel in Luxor en één nacht in een viersterrenhotel in Aswan. Daarnaast zijn ontbijt, het vervoer binnen Egypte, de entreegelden volgens het programma en een Engelssprekende gids inbegrepen. Internationale vluchten, overige maaltijden en drankjes en individuele excursies zijn niet inbegrepen.
De voorlopige prijs bedraagt 2.900 dollar per persoon bij verblijf in een gedeelde tweepersoonskamer. Voor een eenpersoonskamer wordt voorlopig uitgegaan van 3.600 dollar. De organisatie benadrukt dat het om indicatieve bedragen gaat. De definitieve prijs is mede afhankelijk van de beschikbaarheid van vluchten en wordt in oktober 2026 vastgesteld. Voor de tour geldt een minimum van 25 deelnemers, verdeeld over 15 kamers. Aanmelden kan via een online formulier.
Wie na Egypte nog niet genoeg heeft van het vieren van vijftig jaar The Spy Who Loved Me, krijgt bovendien de mogelijkheid om de reis voort te zetten. Op 15 oktober 2027 staat namelijk een aanvullend SPY50-weekend in Sardinië, Italië gepland. Dit evenement maakt geen onderdeel uit van de Egyptische tour en was op het moment van verschijnen van de brochure nog niet definitief bevestigd. Wie aan beide evenementen wil deelnemen, wordt daarom geadviseerd nog te wachten met het boeken van de internationale vluchten.
Following the announced tour of Japan, On The Tracks Of 007 has announced another special Bond journey. In October 2027, fans will be able to travel to Egypt for the SPY50 Tour of Egypt, an eight-day tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Spy Who Loved Me, released in 1977.
The tour will take participants from Cairo via Abu Simbel and Aswan to Luxor and will take place from 6 to 13 October 2027. While the Japanese tour brings together different aspects of Bond history, the Egyptian tour is firmly centred on one film: The Spy Who Loved Me. On The Tracks Of 007 offers participants the opportunity not only to visit some of Egypt’s best-known sights, but also to discover various locations and places connected to the world of James Bond.
The journey begins in Cairo on 6 October. The following day, a special Cairo Bond Locations City Tour is scheduled, taking participants to various Bond-related locations in the Egyptian capital. On 8 October, the group will visit the Giza Plateau and the famous pyramids. The day will conclude with the Sound & Light Show. On 9 October, a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum is planned, followed by a dinner cruise on the Nile. The tour then continues further south. On 10 October, participants will fly to Abu Simbel, where a visit to the famous temples is planned. The group will then continue on to Aswan.
The final days of the tour will be spent in Luxor. On 11 October, the Karnak Temple will be visited, while the following day will include visits to various temples on the west bank of the Nile. The tour concludes in Luxor on 13 October, from where participants can begin their journey home.
The organisers have also opted for comfortable accommodation throughout the tour. The package includes four nights at a five-star hotel in Cairo, two nights at a five-star hotel in Luxor and one night at a four-star hotel in Aswan. Breakfast, transport within Egypt, entrance fees according to the itinerary and an English-speaking guide are also included. International flights, other meals and drinks, and individual excursions are not included.
The provisional price is US$2,900 per person based on sharing a twin room. A single room is provisionally priced at US$3,600. The organisers stress that these are indicative prices. The final price will also depend on flight availability and will be confirmed in October 2026. The tour requires a minimum of 25 participants across 15 rooms. Registration is available via an online form.
For those who still want more after celebrating 50 years of The Spy Who Loved Me in Egypt, there is also the possibility of continuing the journey. An additional SPY50 weekend in Sardinia, Italy, is scheduled to take place from 15 October 2027. This event is not included in the Egypt tour and, at the time the brochure was issued, had not yet been officially confirmed. Anyone wishing to attend both events is therefore advised to wait before booking their international flights.
