Voor het eerst worden de zes James Bond-films met Sean Connery in 4K Ultra HD uitgebracht. De collectie bevat Dr No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice en Diamonds Are Forever.
De Sen Connery 4k Collection zijn gerestaureerd in 4K van originele elementen, ter vervanging van de eerdere door Lowry Digital gemaakte masters die werden gebruikt voor dvd’s en Blu-rays. Die oudere transfers waren indrukwekkend, maar maakten het beeld vaak te glad en zorgden voor inconsistenties in de kleuren. Deze keer is de filmkorrel behouden, zijn de details scherper en de kleuren natuurlijker – met minder digitale interferentie en een veel authentiekere uitstraling. Je ziet details in kleding, belichting en locaties die bij eerdere edities ontbraken. Of het nu gaat om de donkere schaduwen van From Russia With Love of de levendige kleuren van Goldfinger, de visuele diepte nodigt uit tot een nieuwe waardering van deze films en het vakmanschap erachter.
Er zijn twee versies van de collectie beschikbaar. De standaardeditie bevat alle zes films op 4K Ultra HD-discs. De Steelbook-editie bevat dezelfde inhoud, maar dan in individuele Steelbooks met opvallend artwork, allemaal gepresenteerd in een collector’s case. Elke film wordt gepresenteerd in 2160p Ultra HD met beeldverhoudingen die trouw zijn aan de originele bioscoopreleases. Audio is beschikbaar in een stereomix, samen met Dolby Atmos. Ondertiteling is beschikbaar in verschillende talen. Deze set heeft ook veel extra’s. Elke film wordt geleverd met een scala aan archiefmateriaal, waaronder commentaar, documentaires, promotiefilmpjes en zeldzaam filmmateriaal.

The films have been restored in 4K from original elements, replacing the earlier Lowry Digital-made masters used for DVDs and Blu-rays. Those older transfers were impressive, but often made the image too smooth and caused colour inconsistencies. This time, the film grain is preserved, details are sharper and colours more natural – with less digital interference and a much more authentic look. You can see details in clothing, lighting and locations that were missing from previous editions. Whether it’s the dark shadows of From Russia With Love or the vibrant colours of Goldfinger, the visual depth invites a new appreciation of these films and the craftsmanship behind them.
Two versions of the collection are available. The standard edition contains all six films on 4K Ultra HD discs. The Steelbook edition contains the same content, but in individual Steelbooks with striking artwork, all presented in a collector’s case. Each film is presented in 2160p Ultra HD with aspect ratios true to the original theatrical releases. Audio is available in a stereo mix, along with Dolby Atmos. Subtitles are available in several languages. This set also has many extras. Each film comes with a range of archive material, including commentaries, documentaries, promotional clips and rare film material.
