Twintig jaar na de première van Casino Royale brengt de Britse fabrikant London Sock Exchange een nieuwe, officieel gelicentieerde James Bond-collectie uit. De Casino Royale Trio bestaat uit drie paar sokken die zijn geïnspireerd op de film waarmee Daniel Craig in 2006 zijn debuut maakte als 007. Daarmee voegt het merk opnieuw een stijlvolle en subtiele hommage toe aan de wereld van James Bond.
De nieuwe giftbox bevat drie ontwerpen: The Double-O, The Vesper en The Deck. Elk paar verwijst naar een iconisch element uit Casino Royale. The Double-O staat symbool voor Bonds status als geheim agent, The Vesper is een knipoog naar zowel Bondgirl Vesper Lynd als de beroemde Vesper Martini, terwijl The Deck is geïnspireerd op de bloedstollende pokerscènes in Casino Royale in Montenegro. Volgens London Sock Exchange is de collectie bedoeld als eerbetoon aan de film die James Bond opnieuw uitvond voor een nieuwe generatie bioscoopbezoekers.
De sokken zijn vervaardigd van biologisch katoen en worden gebreid met een fijn 200-naalds procedé, waardoor de details scherp tot hun recht komen. Daarnaast zijn ze voorzien van handgekettelde tenen voor extra draagcomfort en een honingraatboord die zorgt voor een comfortabele pasvorm. De giftbox is verkrijgbaar in één maat (EU 41-47) en kost €55.
Met de nieuwe Casino Royale Trio bouwt London Sock Exchange voort op een samenwerking die inmiddels een vaste waarde is geworden voor Bond-verzamelaars. In 2024 stond het zestigjarig jubileum van Goldfingercentraal met een luxe collectie vol verwijzingen naar Auric Goldfinger, Oddjob en andere iconische elementen uit de klassieker. In 2025 volgde een speciale GoldenEye Collection, uitgebracht ter gelegenheid van het dertigjarig jubileum van Pierce Brosnans eerste Bond-film.

The Casino Royale Trio consists of three pairs of socks inspired by the film that marked Daniel Craig’s debut as 007 in 2006. Once again, the brand pays a stylish and subtle tribute to the world of James Bond.
The new gift box features three designs: The Double-O, The Vesper and The Deck. Each pair references an iconic element from Casino Royale. The Double-O symbolises Bond’s status as a secret agent, The Vesper is a nod to both Bond girl Vesper Lynd and the famous Vesper Martini, while The Deck draws inspiration from the tense poker scenes set in Montenegro.
